The Singapore IS Research Inter-University Symposium (SIRIUS) 2026 is a flagship academic event co-organized by the Department of Information Systems and Analytics at National University of Singapore (NUS), Information Technology & Operations Management Department at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), and School of Computing and Information Systems at Singapore Management University (SMU). Building on the momentum of past years, this tri-university initiative aims to foster cross-institutional collaboration, cultivate academic exchange, and provide a vibrant platform for PhD students, junior researchers, and senior faculty in the field of Information Systems.
Over three intensive days, the workshop will feature keynote talks from globally renowned scholars and dedicated streams for faculty member and student presentations. Attendees will also benefit from valuable networking opportunities, feedback sessions, and evening social events that support community building and future collaboration.
Alok Gupta is the Curtis L. Carlson Schoolwide Chair in Information Management at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. Until 2024, he served as Senior Associate Dean of Faculty, Research and Administration, and previously served as Chair of the Department of Information and Decision Sciences. Focusing on the economic engineering of systems, Alok’s research examines how system design can account for participant incentives across transactional systems, including Internet markets, real-time databases, B2B systems, e-commerce, and human-AI collaboration. His work has been published in leading journals, including Management Science, Information Systems Research, and MIS Quarterly. He has published more than 90 journal articles, including over 50 articles in premier Information Systems journals, and received the NSF CAREER Award for his research on dynamic pricing mechanisms on the Internet.
Alok has served as Associate Editor at Management Science, Senior Editor and Associate Editor at Information Systems Research, and guest editor for special issues at Management Science and Information Systems Research. He has served as the Publisher of MIS Quarterly since 2004 and was the Editor-in-Chief of Information Systems Research from 2017 to 2022. He is an INFORMS Information Systems Society Distinguished Fellow, AIS Fellow, and INFORMS Fellow and a recipient of the AIS LEO Award. His research impact has been recognized through the INFORMS Design Science Award, AIS Impact Award, and INFORMS ISS Practical Impact Award. He teaches courses on human-AI collaboration, computer networking, electronic commerce, decision support, IT infrastructure, and computer programming.
Anindya Ghose is the Heinz Riehl Chair Professor of Technology and Marketing at New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business, where he holds a joint appointment in the TOPS and Marketing Departments and serves as Director of the Masters of Business Analytics and AI Program. Focusing on the economic consequences of the Internet, digital platforms, mobile commerce, digital marketing, business analytics, data privacy, and AI-enabled markets, Anindya’s research has been published in leading journals and at peer-reviewed conferences. He has published more than 115 papers, received 27 best paper awards and nominations, and secured research grants from organizations, including the National Science Foundation, Google, Microsoft, Adobe, and the Marketing Science Institute. He is also the author of TAP: Unlocking the Mobile Economy and THRIVE: Maximizing Well-Being in the Age of AI.
Anindya is AIS Fellow, INFORMS Information Systems Society Distinguished Fellow, recipient of the NSF CAREER Award, and winner of the inaugural INFORMS ISS Practical Impacts Award. He has served as Senior Editor at Information Systems Research, Associate Editor at Management Science, and currently serves as Department Editor at Management Science. Beyond academia, Anindya has advised, consulted, or collaborated with leading firms, including Alibaba, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Samsung, Adobe, Facebook, Verizon, and Yahoo. He has also provided expert testimony in major litigation matters and is affiliated with Compass Lexecon as a scientific expert.
Emmanuelle Vaast is the Desautels 1 Chair in Digital Technology Management, Professor of Information Systems, and Associate Dean of Research at the Desautels Faculty of Management, McGill University. She is also an AIS Fellow. Her research examines how AI and other digital technologies reshape work, occupations, organization, and societal futures. Drawing on qualitative and digital trace data-informed approaches, Emmanuelle studies the development and use of emerging technologies, the social and organizational dynamics they generate, and their implications for identities, knowledge practices, collective engagement, and new forms of organizing. Her work has been published in leading journals, including the MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Organization Studies, Organization Science, and Academy of Management Annals.
Emmanuelle is widely recognized for her scholarship on digital innovation, social media, occupational and organizational change, and methodological approaches to studying digitally mediated phenomena. Her recent work focuses on AI development, ethical tensions and ambivalence, anticipation, and the future of work topics. She currently serves as Senior Editor at MIS Quarterly and has previously served as Senior Editor at Information Systems Research. She is also Past Division Chair of the Academy of Management’s Communication, Technology, and Organization division. Before joining McGill, Emmanuelle earned degrees in political science, management, and international economics in France, including PhD in Management Sciences from the École Polytechique, Paris.
Youngjin Yoo is Professor of Information Systems and Innovation in the Department of Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where he also serves as Academic Director of LSE Lifelong Learning Digital. Widely recognized as one of the leading intellectual voices on digital innovation, Youngjin’s research examines digital innovation, strategy, transformation, and AI-enabled digital service ecosystems. His work has been published in leading journals, including MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Organization Science, Academy of Management Journal, Harvard Business Review, and Communications of the Association for ACM. He has published more than 170 peer-reviewed articles, received over 33,000 citations, and attracted more than US$10 million in research funding from organizations such as the National Science Foundation, NASA, Knight Foundation, Walmart Foundation, and Samsung Electronics.
Youngjin is Fellow of the Association for Information Systems and serves as Senior Editor at Information Systems Research. He has also served in senior editorial roles at MIS Quarterly, Journal of Information Technology, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, and Journal of Strategic Information Systems. He was the Program Co-Chair of ICIS 2017. Beyond academia, Youngjin has led and advised major digital innovation initiatives with organizations including University Hospitals Cleveland, Samsung Electronics, LG, Goodyear, Penske, Progressive Insurance, Key Bank, Sotera Health, Sherwin-Williams, and American Greetings, among others. He also co-founded Halo Harbour, an AI platform that preserves privacy.
Chee-Wee Tan is a Professor in the Faculty of Business at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Before joining PolyU, he was Professor with Special Responsibilities in Research Excellence at Copenhagen Business School. He received his PhD in Management Information Systems from the University of British Columbia. Focusing on design, governance, and innovation issues related to digital platforms, Chee-Wee’s research has been published in leading journals, including MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of Operations Management, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, European Journal of Information Systems, and Decision Support Systems. He has also held Honorary and Guest Professorship positions at institutions including Lingnan University, Monash University Malaysia, the University of New South Wales, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China, the University of Science and Technology of China, Zhejiang University, and the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society.
Chee-Wee has served or is currently serving on the editorial boards of MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, European Journal of Information Systems, Information Systems Journal, Information & Management, Decision Support Systems, Internet Research, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, and other leading journals. He has also served as Senior Editor at MIS Quarterly. Chee-Wee is the former Vice President of Publications for the Association for Information Systems and the Past Chair of the AIS Special Interest Group on Human Computer Interaction.
